Addie V. Abram 85, of Holly Grove passed away on Wednesday, November 1, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Conway.
Addie was born August 8, 1938 to William Henry Hayden Sr. and Ruthie B. Starr.
Addie was a member of First Baptist Church in Holly Grove for more than 50 years. During her time here she served as a member of the Missionary Society, Sunday School Teacher, Supervisor of the Sunshine Band, Representative of the PLMD District Conference, Supervisor of the Baptist Training Union and First Lady of the Church. She was formerly a member of First Baptist Church of Pine City for many years.
Addie received her formal education from Holly Grove Public Schools. She was a 1955 graduate of Holly Grove Vocational High School. She went on to further her education by attending AM&N College in Pine Bluff (currently the University of Arkansas) where she obtained a Bachelors' Degree Early Childhood Development.
Addie was employed as the Coordinator of the Holly Grove Mid Delta Community Head Start Program for many years. She had also been employed as a Property Manager for the Holly Grove Housing Authority for a number of years. She ended her long career as a Culinary Specialist at the Kiddie College in Holly Grove.
Addie was united in Holy Matrimony to Fred Abram Jr. in 1980.
Her husband: Fred Abraham Jr., sons Harold Glass and Brian Abram, Parents: William Henry Hayden Sr. and Ruthie B. Starr, six siblings: Aaron Starr, Johnny Starr, Lee Vann Starr, Jeannie Star, Evelyn Gillim and Carrie Wilson all preceded Addie in death.
Survivors are two grandsons: Jordan Abram of Holly Grove, AR; and Keyston Murry of Forrest City, AR; two granddaughters: Jasolyn Abram of Holly Grove, AR; Xylen Polk of Little Rock, AR, stepmother: Katherine Hayden of Holly Grove, AR; six brothers: James Starr of Wichita, KS; James Hayden of Denver, CO; William (Dorothy) Hayden Jr. and Willie (Geraldine) Hayden Jr. both of St. Louis, MO; John (Jackie) Hayden of St. Louis, MO; Charles Hayden of Holly Grove, AR; two sisters: Ida Ruth Starr-Burress of Memphis TN, Joann (Jeffery) Hayden-Collins of Stuttgart, AR; a god son of Herman Hampton Jr. Holly Grove, AR; six god daughters: Ellen (Norman) Lee, Phyllis (Roderick) Henry, Mary (Rodney) Smith and Idell (Brian) Stokes all of Marino Valley, CA, Emma (Alvin) Simes of Marion, AR; and Stephanie Jones of Holly Grove, AR; one special cousin Troy (Joyce) Loving of Chicago; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday evening, November 11 from 6 until 8 PM at First Baptist Church, 156 Mimosa in Holly Grove. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 12 at 2 PM at First Baptist Church in Holly Grove. Interment will be at Pine City Cemetery, Padget Road Pine City by C.J.
