Arcola Beasley

Arcola Garrett- Beasley, 76, of Maumelle passed away on Monday, October 21 at her home in Maumelle, Arkansas.

Arcola was born on November 1, 1947 in Moro, Arkansas to Sylvester Garrett and Laurntean Steppes-Garrett.

Arcola was a faithful member of the Bethel AME Church in Little Rock for over 45 years. While there she served as a trustee, an usher, and was part of the Lay organization. She had previously been a member of Garrett Grove Baptist Church in Moro.

Arcola received her education from the George Washington Carver High School in Moro in 1966. While living in Memphis, she went on to attend community college.

Arcola was united in holy matrimony to Elisha Beasley in May 1966. To this union, two daughters were born.

Arcola worked for Safeway Food Stores Warehouse for several years before going to work at Safeway (Harvest Food) Stores before making a career change. In 1983, she then went to work in real estate as a Real Estate agent for Trammell Realty, then venturing out to RE/MAX and Crye-Leike before finally retiring from Val Hansen Realty as a top producer and a she earned recognition as a Million Dollar Club Member.

Her parents: Sylvester and Laurntean Garrett; and one brother: Sterling Garrett all proceeded Arcola in death.

Her survivors are: husband of 55 years Elisha Beasley of Maumelle, AR; two daughters: Teressa Holloway of Maumelle, AR and Pamela Mobbley of Little Rock, AR; five grandchildren: Myron Jackson of Little Rock, AR; Chrystal (Cameron) Parker, Madison Mobbley, Joshua Mobbley and Jillian Frazier all of Little Rock, AR: four great grandchildren; Ja'Kobi Jackson of Freemont, CA; A'myla Jackson of Little Rock, AR; and Cheyenne and Chandler Parker both of North Little Rock, AR; two brothers: Glenn Garrett of Chicago, IL and Freeman (Linda) Garrett of Aliso Viejo, CA; five sisters; Myrtle Jean Paige of Lancaster, TX; Geraldine Garrett of Little Rock, AR; Merida (Elihue) Washington of Sherwood, AR; Claudia (William) Phillips of Burr Ridge, IL; and Sandra (Jeffery) Hendred of Ottumwa, IA and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday morning, November 2 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Bethel AME Church, 815 West 16th Street in Little Rock. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 2 at 11:00 AM at the Bethel AME Church with Reverend Jeffrey Hendred serving as Eulogist.
