Arthelia Whitlock, 91, of Little Rock, formerly of Marvell, passed away on Monday, February 3 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock.
Arthelia was born on February 18, 1933 in Holly Grove, Arkansas to Fredrick Whitlock and Florence Johnson-Whitlock.
Arthelia was a lifelong member the Fountain Head Missionary Baptist Church in Marvell, Arkansas. She was a faithful choir member and served on the Usher board.
"Bird" as Arthelia was affectionately known as was employed with Crest Park Nursing Home in Marvell as a CNA for 30 years before retiring.
Arthelia was united in holy matrimony to Monroe Pittman. He preceded her in death.
Her husband Monroe Pittman; her daughter: Vicki Taylor; her grandson: Arieus Woods Jr; and her siblings: Fred Whitlock Jr, Alcenia Whitlock-Turner and Theressia Whitlock all preceded Arthelia in death.
Survivors are: grandsons John Taylor of Covington, GA; and Gregory Jones- Fields of Jonesboro, AR; great grandson: Braylon Taylor of Russellville, AR; and three sisters: Eddie Ruth Sims of Columbus, OH, Carol (Charles) Irvine of Columbus, OH, and Earnie Mae (Howard) Starkey of Chicago, IL and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday morning, February 14 at 11:00 at Fountain Head Missionary Baptist Church, 504 Willie Drive in Marvell. Internment will take place at Mount Moriah Cemetery, Highway 49 South in Marvell by CJ Williams Funeral Directors and Cremations of Brinkley (870)589-0536 and Stuttgart (870) 672-7100 email: williamsfuneraldirectors2022@gmail.com
Pallbearers are John Taylor, Timothy Davis, Roosevelt Turner, Gregory Jones Fields, Ulysses Tolbert, and Robert Boyd.
