Bobby L. Chunn, 62 of Hoover, Alabama formerly of Brinkley (Fargo Community) passed away on Wednesday, March 6 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.
Bobby L. Chunn was born into the marriage of Virgil J. Chunn, Sr. and Cora E. Garrett-Chunn on January 29, 1962.
Bobby was a member of Saint John AME Church, Birmingham, AL since 2010 under the leadership of Dr. Rev. Ronald D. Sterling, where he served on the Steward Board, Trustee Board, Sons of Allen, Men Choir, Mass Choir and Usher Board. Growing up he was introduced to Christ at Union Missionary Baptist Church in Fargo.
Bobby was a 1980 graduate of Brinkley High School, 1985 BA Degree graduate of Memphis State University/University of Memphis and 2005 MBA Degree graduate of American Intercontinental University. And member of Alpha Kappa Psi Fraternity.
Bobby loved to travel, living in the states of Arkansas, Tennessee, Texas, California, Georgia and Alabama.
Bobby past places of employment included: Kroger, National Education Center, Balin Institute, Service Merchandise, Radio Shack, Alltel, Sprint, and T-Mobile.
His parents, Virgil Sr., and Cora Chunn. maternal grandparents, James and Louise Marshall Garrett and paternal grandparents, Alexander and Maude Chunn; sisters Martha Ann Chunn-Dillard, Betty Chunn-Ashmore, Shelia Chunn-Casey and Sister-in-law Valencia Chunn and Curtis L. Chunn Sr. all preceded Bobby in death.
Survivors are his son Courtney Sneed of Marianna, AR. Two Sisters Kathy (Arlus) Chunn-Banks, Jonesboro, AR and Wanda Dillard, Memphis TN. Seven brothers, Early Lee Chunn, Little Rock, AR, Michael W. Chunn, Carrollton, Va, Virgil J. Chunn, Jr., Topeka, KS, William A. (Thelma) Chunn, Albany, GA, Otis (Christine) Moore, Stuttgart, AR, Donald (Ruth) Owens, Brinkley, AR and Tommy Sanders, Saint Louis, MO and a host of other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on Saturday afternoon March 16 for Immediate family from 6 PM until 7 PM and for the Public from 7 PM until 8 PM at C.J. Williams Funeral Directors and Cremations, 124 South Main Avenue in Brinkley. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 17 at 1 PM at the Brinkley Convention Center, 1501 Weatherby Drive in Brinkley with First Lady Maretha Timmerman officiating.
