Daisy Jean Jenkins, 80 of Stuttgart, passed away on Monday, January 22 at Cavalier Healthcare Center in England.
Daisy was born January 28, 1943, in Altheimer, Arkansas to James Edwards and Evelena Hatton.
Daisy received her early education from the Altheimer and Stuttgart Public School Systems. She was a 1961 graduate of Holman High School in Stuttgart where she was a celebrated athlete and all-around student. She went on to continue her education by attending the Nursing program at Sun Belt Vocational Technical School in Dewitt, Arkansas.
Daisy was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Stuttgart for many years.
For more than 30 plus years, Daisy worked as a Respiratory Therapist Technician with Stuttgart Regional Medical Center in Stuttgart. She retired in 2009 after a long and rewarding career.
Daisy was the widow of Robert Jenkins, whom she married in 1991.
Her husband Robert, her parents: James Edwards and Everlena Hobbs; and a grandson Darrion Threets all preceded Daisy in death.
Survivors are five sons: Arthur L. Threets Jr. and Gary (Naomi) Threets both of Little Rock, AR; Michael Threets of Jacksonville, FL; Darren (Natalie) Threets and Kevin (Alicia) Threets both of Conway, AR; four daughters: Felicia (Kenny) Allen and Karen Threets both of Stuttgart, AR; Cassandra (Dewayne) Thomas of Jacksonville, FL; and Katrina (Ivory) Adams of Little Rock, AR; eighteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren; four sisters: Nancy Lloyd and Valarie Colvin both of Stuttgart, AR; Kathy Williams of Little Rock, AR and Victoria McCauley of Houston, TX and a host of other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday evening, February 1 from 5 PM until 7 PM at C.J. Williams Funeral Directors & Cremations Chapel, 206 West Washington Street in Stuttgart. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 2 at 11 AM at First Baptist Church, 606 North Porter Street in Stuttgart with Reverend Cedric Hawkins officiating. Interment will take place at Lone Tree Cemetery in Stuttgart by C.J.
