Edwin Rudolph Beasley

Edwin Rudolph Beasley, 83, of Brinkley passed away on Wednesday, June 5 at Baptist Medical Center in North Little Rock, AR.

Edwin was born on March 4, 1941, in Sunflower, Mississippi to Alfred Beasley and Katie Bell Hunt.

Edwin was a member of New Light Missionary Baptist Church in Brinkley, where he served as a member of the Deacon Board, member of the Finance Committee and the church Maintenance man.

In his earlier years Edwin or "Puddin", as he was affectionately known, was employed as a farmer for 34 years at Bobby Ray Farms and 10 years at Larry Frien Farms.

Edwin was united in holy matrimony to Carolyn Brooks in 2004.

Edwin's father Alfred Beasley; mother; Katie Bell Hunt-Beasley; and several siblings preceded him in death.

Survivors are his: wife Carolyn Brooks-Beasley of Brinkley, AR; one son Melvin Junior Beasley of Jonesboro, AR; five daughters Rosemary (Johnny) Swanigan-Jones of Hazen, AR, Diane Boyd of Little Rock, AR, Teffanie (Cleotis) Beasley-Weaver of Brinkley, AR, Kalisha (Rico) Veasley of Jonesboro, AR, and Sandy Beasley of Jonesboro, AR; grandchildren: Makhai Crawford, Emagine Brooks, Kaliyah Beasley, Brandaesha Givans, Cassidy Beasley and Love Gaston; 13 additional grandchildren; seven brothers: Sterling (Gloria) Wilkins of Brinkley, AR, Herman Wilkins of Jacksonville, AR, John (Shelia) Wilkins of Little Rock, AR, James Wilkins and Ray Wilkins both of St. Louis, MO; Jimmy Beasley and Timmy Beasey both of Detroit, MI; three sisters: Dixola Dotson of Atlanta, GA; Mary Ann (Robert) Wilkins Russell of St. Louis, MO and Estella Flowers of Detroit, MI; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 21, 2024 from 5PM until 7PM at CJ Williams Funeral Directors and Cremations, 124 South Main in Brinkley. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Wheatley Civic Center, 934 North 8th Street in Wheatley with Reverend Ivory Gaston officiating.
