Eldridge Lee Taylor, 75, of McRae, passed away on Thursday, November 2 at his home.
Eldridge Lee Taylor was born August 28, 1948 in Howell, Arkansas to Aaron Taylor and Juanita Carruthers-Taylor.
Eldridge was baptized at New Mt. Zion House of Prayer in Cotton Plant, Arkansas
Eldridge received his formal education from Cotton Plant Public Schools. He was a 1967 graduate of Cotton Plant Vocational High School. He later went on to attend White River Vocational School in Newport, where he studied Appliance repair and services and received a certificate of completion.
Eldridge was employed with Twin River Processing Plant in Searcy for over 10 years until he retired in 2002. He was formerly employed as a cook at the C&E Social Club in Cotton Plant.
After being drafted into the United States Army in 1968, Eldridge went on to serve his country in the Vietnam War. He received an honorable discharge in 1970.
Eldridge was united in Holy Matrimony to Denice Blackmon in 2005.
His parents Aaron Taylor and Juanita Carruthers-Taylor, Three siblings Anita Crenshaw, Isom Taylor and Essie Lee Shelton all preceded Eldridge in death.
Survivors are his wife: Denice Taylor of McRae, AR; a son Lamont Cannon of Little Rock, AR; four daughters: Lavern (Fredrick) Jackson of Beebe, AR; Vanessa (Brian) Taylor-Harris of Jacksonville, AR; Shamilla Taylor and Vernice (Tyrone) Taylor-Webb both of Searcy, AR; 15 grandchildren: Pistol, Derringer, AnnaLou, Demp Toe, San, Ty, Day, Quarter Mama, Joc, Zay, JoJo, Zay, Papa, Ka-Ka, Tristan and Boogie; 6 great-grandchildren: King, Anna Poo, Zari, Juicy, Baby Brother and Ariell; two god daughters: Cassie Woods of Batesville, AR; Kiyona Woods of Cotton Plant, AR; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 11, at 2:30 PM at Ash Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 114 McMurtry Street in Cotton Plant with Reverend Larry Holmes officiating. Interment will take place on Monday, November 13 at 10 AM at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 West Maryland Avenue North Little Rock by C.J.
