Franklin DeLoyd Tyler, 84 of Chicago, Illinois, formerly of Cotton Plant, passed away on December 23, 2023
"Frank" or "Frankie T" as he was lovingly known was born December 19, 1939 in Cotton Plant, Arkansas to Jennie and Houston Tyler Sr.. He was the youngest son of nine children born to this union.
While growing up in Cotton Plant, Frank and his family attended New Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. After relocating to Chicago, he became a member Faith Temple Church of God In Christ in 1968 under the pastoral leadership of the late Bishop H.W. Goldsberry, where has remained a faithful a steadfast member until his passing.
Frank recieved his early education from the New Mount Pleasant School in the Dark Corner Community of Cotton Plant. He went on to attend Marian Anderson High School in Brinkley, where he graduated in 1957. After which went on to attend the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (formerly AM&N College), where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education in 1961.
Frank was united in holy matrimony to Martha Ruth Richardson. They moved to Chicago, Illinois in early 1960's.
Frank worked in sales as a Cook County Deputy Officer for more than 42 years before retiring.
His wife, Marth Ruth Tyler, his parents, Houston Tyler Sr. and Jennie Tyler; five brothers, Robert, James, Houston Jr., John and Eldren, John; one sister, Florida Tyler preceded Frank in death.
Survivors are his son, Toure' Tyler (Rolanda); daughter, Tori Marshall (Samuel); brother, Theotis Tyler Sr.; sister, Mable Anderson; grandchildren, Zoe Rae and Houston Ray Tyler, an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and the numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 20 at 11:00 AM at Ash Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 114 McMurtry Street in Cotton Plant. Interment will take place at Ash Grove Cemetery by C.J.
