Gary Lamont Barker

Gary Lamont Barker, 50 of Cotton Plant, passed away on Saturday, August 26 at CHI St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock.

Gary was born July 31, 1973 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Dennis S. Woods and Francine Barker.

Gary received his education from the Cotton Plant Public School System in Cotton Plant, Arkansas, where he participated in sports and other school extra-curricular activities. He was a 1991 graduate of Cotton Plant High School.

Gary was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church-James Addition in Cotton Plant.

Gary was united in holy matrimony to Tasha Cornett Baker in in 1994. To this union, a daughter Kaylen was born.

"Big Woo" as Gary was affectionately known, was self-employed as a Farmer for many years.

His wife: Tasha Cornett-Barker, his parents: Dennis Woods and Francine Barker all preceded Gary in death.

Survivors are: his daughter Kaylen Barker of Stockton, CA; two brothers: Rodney Woods of Little Rock, AR and Chris (Amanda) Woods of Searcy, AR; three sisters: Barbara Ann (James) Sykes of Lexa, AR; Sherry Woods-Gallon of North Little Rock, AR and Sheila (A.J.) Shannon of Tulsa, OK; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday evening, September 8 from 6 until 8 PM at CJ Williams Funeral Directors and Cremations, 124 South Main Avenue in Brinkley. Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon September 9 at 2:30 PM at First Baptist Church-James Addition, 178 West McGowan Street in Cotton Plant with Pastor Shirley Hill officiating.
