Gary Dewayne “Earl” Hart, 62 of Dewitt, passed away on Thursday evening, March 14 at his home following a brief illness.
Gary was born January 26, 1962 in Marianna, Arkansas to Lloyd Hart Sr. and Shirley Temple Robinson-Hart.
“Earl” as Gary was affectionately known, received his formal education from the Marianna School District.
Although he didn’t attend church services regularly, Earl had a relationship with the Lord. He often enjoyed listening to sermons from different Ministers and Bible readings via social media and on AM Radio. He also enjoyed listening to Christian and Gospel music while traveling across the country when he was trucking.
Earl worked as a Truck Driver for many years. He had also worked on farms during the earlier years of his life. Before he became ill, he had been employed as long-haul Truck Driver for Jason Ellenberg Trucking for several years. Through the years he had also worked for Hornbeck Trucking, Lockhart Trucking and G&H Trucking.
Earl was married to Jessica Ballard in 1986 and they had lived in wedded bliss for more than 38 years, while raising their 2 children.
His parents: Lloyd Hart Sr. and Shirley Temple Hart: his siblings: four brothers: Daniel Hart, Nelson Hart, Robert Hart and Eddie Hart; and four sisters: Margie Hutchinson, Wanda Green and Deborah Armstrong and Shirley Kay Ballard all preceded Gary “Earl” in death.
Survivors are: his wife Jessica Ballard-Hart of Dewitt, AR; his son Mark Shirley of Dewitt, AR and a daughter: Brittany Barlow of Dewit, AR; five grandchildren: Courtney (Cody) Arnold, Triston Shirley, Dalton ( Savannah) Shirley Kaylin Rosenbaum; three great grandchildren: Serenity Grace Shirley, Roslynn Grace Shirley and Lilly Ann Morris: two brothers: Lloyd (Joyce) Hart Jr. of Palestine, AR and Joe Hart of Forrest City, AR; four sisters: Betty Hart of Palestine, AR; Tina (Billy) Pate of Wynne, AR; Michelle (Raymond) Ortiz of Rogers, AR and Cathy Mathis of Brinkley, AR; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday morning, March 19 at 10 AM at C.J. Williams Funeral Directors Chapel, 206 West Washington Street in Stuttgart with Bro. Alan Hughes as Eulogist. Interment will take place at Dewitt Cemetery in Dewitt by C.J.
