Helen Marie Chunn-Cohen

Helen Marie Chunn-Cohen, 86 of Cotton Plant, passed away on Thursday evening, March 21 at her daughter's home in Little Rock.

Helen was born November 24, 1937 in Cotton Plant, Arkansas to Willie Chunn and Savannah Johnson-Chunn.

Helen was a faithful member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Howell, Arkansas for many years.

Helen received her education from the Cotton Plant Public school system in Cotton Plant.

Helen was employed at Munsey Manufacturing for over five years before retiring. She had previously worked at Best Western Hotel in Brinkley for over (15) years.

Helen was united in holy matrimony to Jessie Cohen in the late 1990's. Although they separated, they remained good friends until his passing.

Her parents Willie Chunn and Savannah Chunn-Bunch and step father Sam Bunch; siblings: Ednea Carroll, Mary Stafford, Jewell B. Bunch, Lawyer B. Bunch, and Jessie B. Bunch all preceded Helen in death.

Survivors are three daughters: Rose Stovall and Gertie Chunn-Scott both of Little Rock, AR; and Madie (Tim) Morris of Little Elm, TX; five grandchildren: Kristine Stovall and Brandon Stovall both of Little Rock, AR; Nakita Scott of Grand Prairie, TX; Chantal (Patrick) Pree of McKinney, TX and Trenton Johnson of Little Elm,TX; four great-grandchildren Braylon Stovall, Ava Turner and Ca'Leigh Stovall all of Little Rock, AR; and Madison Pree of McKinney, TX; a brother Orbit Chunn of Little Rock, AR; a sister Louise Hughes of Batesville, AR; an uncle Jonah (Pearl) Johnson Sr. of St. Louis MO; an aunt Janie Chunn-Williams of Cotton Plant, AR; two goddaughters: Davida Ellis of Cotton Plant, AR and Ladelle Roddy of Searcy, AR; two godsons: Melvin (Evonda) Roddy of Arlington, TX; and Theodore Roddy of Cotton Plant, AR; three special friends: Forrestine Roddy of Cotton Plant, AR; Shirley Scott of Little Rock, AR and Minnie Lee Davis of Kensett, AR; and a host nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 30 at 3 PM at Ash Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 114 McMurtry Street in Cotton Plant with Bro. Osie Chunn officiating and Minister Charles Ladd as eulogist. Interment will take place at Macedonia Cemetery in Fargo by C.J.
