Henry Tyrone Murray

Henry Tyrone Murray, 96, of Cotton Plant passed away on Thursday March 13 at Unity Health Medical Center in Searcy.

Henry was born on October 3, 1928, in Cotton Plant, Arkansas to Judge Murray and Ocie Locke.

Henry began his education at the Cotton Plant School System yet didn't finish due to having to start working at an early age.

Growing up in Cotton Plant, Henry was a member of the Rock Chapel Church ( currently Trice Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.

In his earlier years, "Henry T" as Henry was affectionately known as was employed by the Delta Plywood Company in Des Arc, Arkansas for 30 plus years. He then went on to work for the City of Cotton Plant's Sanitation Department for 20 years before retiring.

His parents: Judge Murray and Ocie Lockwood-Williams and his brother Roy Lee Murray, three sisters: Frances Murray, Lula Brown, Beatrice Murray all proceeded Henry in death.

Survivors are his: four sons Sylvester Murray of Los Angeles, CA; Richard (Rose) Ryland of Los Angeles, CA; Bobby Dale (Regina) Sawyer of Cotton Plant, AR and Tracy Ryland of Cotton Plant, AR; eight grandchildren; Robert Durham of Brinkley, AR, Rashad and Ramar Ryland both of Los Angeles, CA; Antonio (Natasha) McCoy of Batesville, AR; Payton (Brandon) Williams of Rowlette, TX; Aasha (Eric) Alcorn of Searcy, AR; Bobby Whitfield of Searcy, AR and Kevin McClure of Dallas, TX and a host great grandchildren of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday morning, March 22 at 10:00 AM at Ebenezer Cemetery, Woodruff County Road 935 in Cotton Plant by CJ Williams Funeral Directors and Cremations of Brinkley (870) 589-5036 and Stuttgart (870)672-7100 email: williamsfuneraldirectors2022@gmail.com; website: www.williamsfuneraldirectors.net.
