The 2nd child to Genardine Stovall, Janice Faye Stovall Williams was born at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois on February 26, 1947. Upon the death of her mother at an early age, 2 week old Janice Faye and her 18 month old brother, Thomas Ray, needed family more than ever. Their grandfather (Al DeMond Stovall, Sr.) and uncle (Napoleon Stovall) traveled to Chicago and transitioned Janice Faye and Thomas Ray to Cotton Plant, Arkansas, where they were raised in love, surrounded by family.
Janice was a 1966 graduate of Cotton Plant Vocational High School, where she enjoyed singing in the school choir. On March 13, 1967 she was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Frankie Lee Williams, Sr. Janice felt that one of her greatest accomplishments was bringing 8 beautiful children into this world, inside of the love of Jesus Christ. She confessed her love for Christ at an early age and was a faithful member at Rock Chapel in Cotton Plant, Arkansas and Riverside Church of God in Christ in Des Arc. She later joined New Testament Holiness Church in Batesville, AR under the Late Ernie Childress.
Janice spent most of her adult career, over 40 years, caring for others serving as a Home Health Caregiver (on and off duty) at several Home Health agencies. Affectionately known as Sister Janice, she wore many hats. A mother figure and a blessing to many, Janice always led with service, and never asked for anything in return. She sold it all...Blair, MaryKay, Tupperware, Avon, and Watkins to name a few. One of her favorite hobbies was crocheting, where she often knitted hats and scarves for all ages. She is best remembered for her baking skills (soc- it- to me cakes); dressing to the nines with her matching hat, and her well-known signature dish: chicken and dressing which was always requested for every event.
Janice was preceded in death by both her parents, her husband (Frankie Lee Williams, Sr.), and one son Martin Luther.
She leaves to cherish her memories seven children (2 daughters): Hope Stovall (Matteson, IL) and Melissa Graham (Bald Knob, AR) and (5 sons): Frankie Lee Williams, Jr. (Little Rock, AR); Booker T. Williams (Conway, AR); Frederick (Mandy) Williams (Dover, AR); Reggie Williams (Wylie, TX), Timothy Williams (Hickory Plains, AR), and one brother Thomas Ray (Sammie) Stovall of Frankfort, Illinois; 16 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
