Jeannie Carol Harris

Jeannie Carol Harris, 66, of Colt, formerly of Brinkley passed away on Monday March 3 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

Jeannie was born on January 7, 1959, in Cotton Plant, Arkansas to Marvin Lee Harris Sr and Marzie Barker-Harris.

Jeannie received her education from Lee County Public School District. She was a proud graduate of Lee Senior High School Class of 1978. She went on to further her education by attending Phillips Community College in Helena.

Jeannie was a member End Time Harvest Outreach Ministries in Colt for more than 2 years. She was formerly a longtime member of the Jesus Name Holiness House of Prayer of Brinkley, where he was a youth teacher, member of the usher board, choir member, she played the drums and taught arts and crafts for the children. She was baptized Bethel Temple Holiness Church in Brinkley under the leadership of Pastor F.R. White.

"Boogie" and "Spiz" as Jeannie was affectionately known was employed by Shady Oaks Apartment Complex in Forrest City, as an apartment complex manager. She had previously worked as a Substitute Teacher with the Brinkley Public School District for several years. She had also formerly been employed with the Fargo Agricultural Museum in Fargo.

Her parents: Marvin and Marzie Harris; her brothers: James Palmer, Marvin Harris Jr. and Bobby Harris; and one sister: Ellen Dugger all preceded Jeannie in death.

Survivors are her: five brothers: Larry (Betty) Harris of Wheatley, AR; Carlton (Kim) Harris of North Little Rock, AR; Harold Harris of North Little Rock, AR; Richard (Sharon) Harris of Forrest City, AR and Dennis Harris of Jonesboro, AR; five sisters: LeJeune Harris of North Little Rock, AR, Marvalene Harris of Albuquerque, NM; Deborah Harris of North Little Rock, AR; Sandra (Cardel) Andrews of Gardenia, CA and Cathy Harris of North Little Rock, AR; sister in law Mary Harris of Fargo, AR; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation services will be held on Saturday March 15 from 10 AM until 11 AM at Wheatley Civic Center, 934 N 8th Street in Wheatley. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM at Wheatley Civic Center.
