Joann Joyce Hayes

Joann Joyce Hayes, 72 of Brinkley, passed away on Sunday, September 1 at her home in Brinkley.

Joann was born on March 31, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois to Riley Anderson Sr. and Olysee Smith Anderson.

Joann received her education from the Brinkley Public Schools. She was a 1971 graduate of Marian Anderson High School in Brinkley.

Joann was a lifelong faithful member of the Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Brinkley. She had currently served under the leadership of Elder Larry Dixon.

In her early years, Joann or "Jo" as she was affectionately known was employed as a cook at the Great Southern Hotel in Brinkley.

Her husband; L.P. Hayes Sr; her son Damian Anderson; and her parents Riley Anderson Sr. and Olysee Smith all proceeded Joann in death.

Survivors are her sons: Lawrence Anderson of Hominy, OK and L.P. Hayes Jr. of Brinkley, AR; four daughters: Pamela Sprawling of Brinkley, AR, Stacy Anderson of Brinkley, AR, Shanna Hayes-Wilson of Hot Springs, and Akeria Briggs of Newport, AR; 17 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, two brothers: Riley Anderson of Brinkley, AR and Floyd Johnson of Detroit, MI other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon September 14 at 2:30 PM at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ, 719 North New Orleans in Brinkley with Elder Larry Dixon serving as eulogist.
