Joshua Cortez Brown, 20, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away on Monday, May 20 in Little Rock.

Joshua was born on March 17, 2004, in Forrest City, Arkansas to Edward Charles Brown Jr. and Natasha Denise Hicks.

Joshua received his education from Little Rock Public School System. He was a proud 2022 graduate of Southwest High School in Little Rock. He went on to continue his education By receiving an athletic scholarship to Arkansas Baptist College his college freshman year. For his sophomore year, he was accepted at Shorter College in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

"Herman" or "Chocolate Drop" as Joshua was lovingly known by family and friends, played basketball and football in high school serving as his team's Quarterback. He also played AAU sports and received numerous accolades and awards throughout his high school sports career.

Joshua or "chocolate drop" as he was affectionately known enjoyed playing basketball against his sister Raven, "Call of Duty," drawing tattoos, and loved animals. He had a very Humble Spirit, his favorite quote was "Say Less."

Joshua had employed for a short period of time at Family Dollar Store in Little Rock, while attending school.

His maternal-grandmother: Brenda Bogard-Hicks preceded Joshua in death.

Survivors are his mother: Natasha (Demetrius Sr.) Hicks-Williams of Little Rock, AR; and his father: Edward Charles (Naomi) Brown Jr. of South Bend, IN; brothers: Javion White and Brandon D. Brown both of Little Rock, AR; Javan V. Whitby of Lubbock , TX; and Isaiah Seth Brown of South Bend, IN; Demetrius Williams Jr and Damir Williams of Little Rock, AR; sisters: Raven Brown and Nevaeh Williams of Little Rock, AR; and MaKayah Brown of South Bend, IN; maternal grandfather McArthur (Loustine) Hicks of Goodwin, AR; paternal grandparents: Pastor Edward C. and Ruthie Brown Sr. of Little Rock, AR; his godmothers: Trameka Hicks and Re'Sha Hicks both of Little Rock, AR; his best friends: Nyshaun Ballard and Terrchele Hinton both of Little Rock, AR and a host of other aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday June 1 at 10:00 AM. at St. Paul Full Gospel Church, 509 North Emmons Avenue in Brinkley with Elder Albert O. Clark serving as Eulogist. Interment will take place at Goodwin Memorial Cemetery in Goodwin by C.J.
