Larry Gene Hardimon, 70 of Stuttgart, passed away on Sunday evening, February 4 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Stuttgart.
Larry was born January 2, 1954 in Pine City, Arkansas to William Andrew Hardimon Sr. and Novella Louis Cotton-Hardimon.
Larry received his formal education from the Holly Grove Public School System. He was a 1972 graduate of Holly Grove Vocational High School.
Larry was a former employee of Producers Rice Mill in Stuttgart for more than 35 years before he retired a few years earlier. He had also formerly employed by the Potlatch Corporation and Stratton Seeds. Her retired from all three companies. He was always a very hard-working man.
Larry enjoyed a quaint country life of family and friends. He loved to spend time with his family at gatherings and family events. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh, have others laughing and trash talking. He loved telling jokes and joning his friends and family.
Larry was united in holy matrimony to Debora Nichols Smith on February 15, 2005.
His step children: Yolanda Anthony and Calvin Smith Jr.; his parents: William Andrew Hardimon Sr. and Novella Louise Hardimon; his brother William Hardimon Jr., two sisters: Everlena Starr and Mary Murrell all preceded Larry in death.
Survivors are: his wife of 19 years: Debora Hardimon of Stuttgart, AR; sons: Nathaniel Hardimon of Brinkley, AR; Lester (Shandale) Smith of Waxahachie, TX; and Antonio Smith of Edmondson, OK; daughters: Darkisha Hardimon of Stuttgart, AR; Lasheena Hardimon of Brinkley, AR and Sharon Nichols of Little Rock, AR; a brother Andrew Hardimon of Denver CO; two sisters: Delores Barr of Milwaukee, WI and Marie Young of Pine City, AR; a sister in law Bertha Hardimon of Pine City, AR and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
A visitation will be held on Saturday evening, February 17 from 5 PM until 7 PM the Chapel of C.J. Williams Funeral Directors and Cremations, 206 West Washington Street in Stuttgart. Funeral services will be held on Sunday afternoon, February 18 at 2 PM at Holmon Heritage Community Center, 605 North Burkle Street in Stuttgart with Pastor Debra Burton officiating. Per family’s request, interment will be private. Services provided by C.J.
