Lerome McKay

Jerome (Lerome) McKay, 69, of Brinkley, Formerly of Flint, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, October 9 at his home in Brinkley.

Jerome was born on August 6, 1955, in Brinkley, Arkansas to Frank Brooks and Joyce Ree Morris.

Jerome attended high school at Brinkley Public Schools and later went on to Job Corps in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Jerome was a member of the House of Prayer in Flint, Michigan for 13 years.

Jerome was united in holy matrimony to Roberta McKay from 2001-2011.

In his earlier years "Champ" as Jerome was affectionately known was employed by CFI Papers Plastic and Packaging Company in Flint for more than 30 years before retiring.

His wife: Roberta McKay; his parents: Frank J. Brooks and Joyce Ree Morris-Caldwell and Earnest Caldwell; and a brother Darnell L. James, and sister Jeanette Reed all proceeded him in death.

Survivors are his: two sons LaCarlos T. Cline of Brasfield, AR and Jerome McKay of St. Louis, MO; two daughters: Martina McKay of St. Louis, MO and Tiffany Godbollodo of Flint, MI; three grandchildren: Kameris Cline, Jayionta Bomar and Jarionta Bomar; four brothers: Artry Watson of Lansing, MI; Percy (Gloria) Watson of San Antonio, TX; Napoleon Reed of Conway, AR; and Clarence Wilson of Brinkley, AR; four sisters: Cathy Shelton and Johnette (John) Russell-Bradley both of Brinkley, AR; Judy Reed and Jackie Reed both of Conway, AR and a host of family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday evening October 18 from 5 until 7 PM at C.J. Williams Funeral Directors Chapel, 124 South Main Avenue in Brinkley. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 19, at 2:00 PM at St. Paul Full Gospel Church, 409 North Emmons Avenue in Brinkley with Pastor Marvin Norman serving as eulogist.
