Lillie Mae Perry-Teague, 68 of Marianna, passed away on Friday afternoon, March 3 at the Blossoms of Woodland Hills Nursing and Rehab Center in Little Rock.

Lillie was born November 8, 1954 in Marianna, Arkansas to James Washington Perry Jr. and Earnestine Crawford-Perry.

As a child, Lillie Mae accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She joined and attended Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in Oak Forrest, Arkansas.

Lillie received her early education from the Marianna Public School System. She went on to become a 1973 graduate of Lee Senior High School. After high school she went on to pursue a higher education by attending the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, where she graduated in 1977 with a degree in English Education.

Lillie was a proud card-carrying member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority since becoming a member in 1977.

Lillie went on to teach Middle School English in Dewitt, T.A. Future Middle School and Lee Senior High School both in Marianna and last, Forrest Heights Middle School in Little Rock. She had a wonderful career as an Educator for more than 36 years when she retired from the profession in 2013.

Lillie became a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority in 1977 and served throughout her communities, enriching the lives of her former students and families which she touched affectionately.

Her parents James W. Perry Jr. and Earnestine Perry,, three brothers; Eugene Perry, Cornell Perry and Donald Perry all preceded Lillie Mae in death.

Survivors: : one daughter, Kristina Teague of Conway, AR; two brothers, James (Edith) Perry, III of Peoria, Ill; Michael (Margarita) Perry of Santa Teresa, NM; one sister Almeta Perry Smith of Dallas, TX; four nieces; Tawana Smith of Dallas, TX, Donna (Koby) Perry-Branch of Maumelle, AR; Connie (Jeremy) Smith of Jonesboro, AR; Michaela Perry; Two nephews; Patrick Smith of Dallas, TX; Daniel Perry of Little Rock, AR; five great nieces and nephews; Katelyn Branch, Triston Branch, Jayson Smith, Jeremy Smith Jr. and Jordyn Smith; also her grand fur baby, Suzie Teague of Conway, AR and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 12 at 2 PM at First Missionary Baptist Church, 313 South New Orleans Street in Brinkley with Reverend Tim Llewellyn officiating. Internment will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery, Maple Street in Brinkley by C.J.
