Lonnie Lewis Greene

Lonnie Lewis Greene, 69 of Augusta, passed away on Monday, March 27 at CHI St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock. He was the widower of Mable Jean Emerson Greene.

Lonnie was born on October 7, 1953 in Augusta, Arkansas to Jack Green and Minnie Mae Roddy-Greene.

Lonnie was baptized at Goodrich Chapel Church in Tupelo, Arkansas under the leadership of Reverend D.M. Bimble.

Lonnie received his early education from the Augusta Public School System. He was a 1971 graduate of Augusta High School. He went on to receive formal training as a Welder for which he received a Certificate of Completion from Foothills Vo-Tech in Searcy.

Lonnie last place of employment was at Arkansas Steel in Newport, where he had worked for more than a year before retiring. He had previously been employed with the Paslode Corporation in Augusta for over 10 years.

His wife Mable Jean Emerson-Greene; his son Demetrius Parker, father Jack Greene and a sister Judy Campbell all preceded Lonnie in death.

Survivors are two sons: Terrance (Sharon) Williams of Searcy, AR; Tony Johnson of Omaha, Ne; three daughters Equet Williams of Augusta, AR ; Jackie (Marcus) Greene-Shell of Conway, AR; Karras Smith of Beebe, AR; four grandchildren: Tavares Johnson, Asia Shell, Tony Johnson Jr. and Brooklyn Riggs; his mother Minnie Mae Greene of Augusta, AR; three brothers: Earl Greene of Little Rock, AR; Chester (Ethel) Greene of Augusta, AR; and Johnny (Katie) Greene of McCrory, AR; four sister: Debra Landrum, Bertha Miller, Sharon Greene-Spears and Torasha Greene all of Augusta, AR;. five aunts: Barbara Farmer and Elvaria "Sadie" Fobbs and Selma Greene all of Augusta, AR; Dorothy Richardson and Dorothy Hampton both of Jonesboro, AR; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 8 at 10 AM at Holy Ghost Academy Church of God In Christ 927 South 4th Street, Augusta with Reverend Donald Miller Jr. officiating. Interment will be at New Quiet Cemetery in Augusta by C.J.
