Lula Mae Love

Lula Mae Love, 84 of Cotton Plant, passed away on Saturday, August 12 at her home.

Lula was born April 10, 1939 in Biscoe, Arkansas to James Cohen and Cassie Conner-Cohen. She was the only daughter born to this union of four children.

While growing up in Biscoe in the Upper Hill Community, Lula was baptized and attended church at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. After she was married and relocated to Cotton Plant, she became a member of First Baptist Church-James Addition, where she has remained a diligent and faithful member for more than 50 plus years.

Lula attended school and received her formal education from the Biscoe Public Schools.

Lula was united in holy matrimony to Clarence Love Sr. in 1960.

Lula worked in the Hospitality Industry at the Quality Inn Hotel in Brinkley for more than 20 plus years before retiring.

Her husband Clarence Love Sr., her son Jessie James Curlett, her daughter Patricia Ann Cohen; her parents: James and Cassie Cohen, three brothers: Hezikiah Cohen, Jessie Cohen and Joseph Cohen all preceded Lula Mae in death.

Survivors are: two sons: Clarence (Raquel) Love Sr. of Apple Valley, CA; and Rickey Love Sr. of Batesville, AR; four daughters: Mary Joe (Jimmy) Jackson, Lisa Love and Tammy Love all of Cotton Plant, AR; and Janice (Tracy) Love of Covington, GA; her loving companion of many years Robert "Rocky Poppa" Jones Sr. of Cotton Plant, AR; forty seven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, three nephews: James (Jacquelyn) Cohen of Little Rock, AR; Michael Cohen of Conway, AR; and Reggie Cohen of Jacksonville, AR; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 19, at 3 PM at First Baptist Church-James Addition, 178 West McGowan Street in Cotton Plant with Reverend Donald Wilson officiating. Interment will take place at Harrison Cemetery in Biscoe by C. J.
