Luther Bennett, 81 of Holly Grove, passed away on Monday evening, October 2 at Baptist Health Medical Center in North Little Rock.
Luther was born November 14, 1941 in Blackton, Arkansas to Carl Bennett and Willetta Wright-Bennett.
Luther attended the Holly Grove Public School System. He was a 1961 graduate of Holly Grove Vocational High School.
Luther was a lifelong member of the Blackton Church of Christ in Blackton.
After graduating high school, Luther relocated to St. Louis, Missouri, where he lived and worked for more than 10 years before returning to Arkansas to live.
After returning to Arkansas in the early 1970's Luther went to work for Riceland Foods in Stuttgart, where he worked for many years before retiring due to failing health.
His parents Carl Bennett and Willetta Bennett, his sister Jessie Mae Caldwell and his maternal grandmother Sellar Chambers all preceded Luther in death.
Survivors are: two sisters: Carlee Latham of Holly Grove, AR and Shirley Corbitt of Tulsa, OK and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday morning October 14 at 11 AM at Mount Union Cemetery in Blackton with Bro. Otis Dawson officiating by C.J. Williams Funeral Directors and Cremations of Brinkley (870) 589-5036 williamsfuneraldirectors2022@gmail.com
Pallbearers are: Franklin Latham, James Caldwell, Curtis Caldwell, Chad Chandler Jr., James Edward Bennett and Bill Bennett.
