Maeola Pike, 76 of Clarendon, passed away on Tuesday morning, August 27 at Chenal Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Little Rock.
Maeola was born November 16, 1947 in Sherrill, Arkansas to Leola Pike and Roosevelt Lloyd.
Maeola received her early education from the Clarendon Public Schools. She was a 1966 graduate of George Washington Carver High School in Clarendon.
Maeola was a lifelong faithful member of Union Missionary Baptist Church in Clarendon.
Maeola was employed at the Monroe County Courthouse in Clarendon for more than 15 years before retiring. She had previously been employed with Radiology Department at Stuttgart Regional Hospital in Stuttgart. She had also been employed with Home Healthcare in Clarendon.
Maeola will be fondly remembered for her larger-than-life personality, kind heart, quick wit, her magnetic sense of humor and her sharp tongue. She never minded speaking her mind.
Her parents Roosevelt Lloyd and Leola Pike Johnson, her brother Willie Gray Jr., sisters: Rebecca Gray and Carolyn Finney-Lee; her aunts Mattie Robinson, and Velma Walls, her grandparents Stony and Rebecca Pike; and special cousin Silvia Ann Ester, all proceeded Maeola in death.
Survivors are her children: Johnathon Pike of Clarendon, AR; Sandra (Clark) Body of Indianapolis, IN; and Gene (Tekela) Pike of Stuttgart, AR; her 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; five brothers Frederick Lee of Stuttgart, AR; Justin Lloyd Searcy of Benton, AR; Ellis (Rene) Johnson of Jacksonville, FL; Elliot (Violet) Johnson of Horne Lake, MS and Lee Wesley of Forrest City, AR; three sisters: Florence Dodson of Clarendon, AR; Denise (Elder David) Wilson of Stuttgart, AR; and Marilyn Lloyd of Detroit, MI ; and host of other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday evening September 6 from 6 PM until 7 PM at the C.J. Williams Funeral Directors Chapel, 124 South Main Avenue in Brinkley. Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning, September 7 at 10:00 AM at the Clarendon Executive Hall, 620 Madison Street in Clarendon with Elder David Wilson serving as eulogist.
