Mary Alice Jordan

Mary "Jean" Alice Jordan 68, of Rochester, New York, formerly of Wheatley passed away on Wednesday April 10 at her home in Rochester.

Mary "Jean" was born May 2nd, 1955, in New Brunswick, New Jersey to Willie Flem Jordan and Juanita Leon-Jordan.

Jean, as Mary was lovingly known, attended, and graduated from Wheatley High School in 1977.

While growing up she attended First Baptist Church Wheatley, Arkansas under the leadership of Reverand Neely Vance.

Throughout the years, Jean has worked in numerous positions. She was a dietician at the local Public School, C.N.A. at a nursing home, factory worker and she also worked at a fish market. Mary found her passion when she became a self-employed day-care provider.

Jean hobbies were cooking, growing flowers, listening to music, fishing, gambling, and talking on the phone. She loved coming home to visit her family, grandchildren, and friends, while with them she made sure to share her home spun wisdom of life.

Jean's father Willie Flem Jordan, mother Juanita Leon, and brothers Tony Jordan, Willie McNeal, Levester Jordan and Willie F. Jordan Jr. precede her in death.

Survivors are: her husband Michael Elliott of Rochester, NY; daughters: Shantez Jordan of Wheatley, AR, and Nicole Jordan of Rochester, NY; grandchildren: Tony Jordan, Devonte Jordan, Tatyana Yarde, Christopher Jordan, Mya Yarde, Brandi Nelson, Laval Barnes, Curtis Barnes and Niyela Barnes; great-grandchildren Haven Jordan, Kayelle Butler, Riley Miller and Miracle Jordan bonus great grandchildren Hadley Duffy and Chase Hudson; her brother: Lorenzo Jordan of Wheatley, AR; her sisters: Nita Jordan-Shavers of Wheatley, AR and Betty Jordan McMillion of Conway, AR; In-Laws: Curtis (Betty) Elliott, Danny (Yvette) Elliott, John (Christine) Elliott, Dorothea Hampton, Sonia Holmes, Rose Wynne, and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 27th, 2024, 2:30 p.m. at the Brinkley Convention Center, 1501 Weatherby Drive in Brinkley with Reverend James Leon Jr. officiating/eulogist.
