Michael Dennis Smith

Michael "Mad Dog" Dennis Smith 66, of Marion, Arkansas passed away Monday April 1st at Saint Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

Michael was born March 5, 1958, in St. Louis, Missouri to Mary Lee Smith. While growing up in St. Louis, he attended Martin's Temple Church of God in Christ.

Michael attended and completed his early education at Beaumont High School in St. Louis, after which he went on to attend O'Fallon Technical School.

After high school Michael enlisted into the Navy August 28,1975 and receive an honorable discharge on September 1, 1978. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he became employed as a truck driver with companies located in St. Louis and later relocating as a truck driver to Marion, Arkansas.

Michael obtained the motorcycle handle of "Mad Dog" because of his daredevil spirit and love of motorcycle riding. He was former president of the Drag Racers Inc. based in Illinois.

Mad Dog loved watching football, westerns, grilling, listening to music, and traveling with his motorcycle club.

His mother Mary Lee Smith preceded him in death.

Survivors are his sons: Michael Dennis Adams of St. Louis, MO; and Donovan Hickman of Bellevue IL; daughters: Jazmine Adams of St. Louis, MO and Dovonna Hickman of Memphis, TN; brother Terry (Michelle) Smith of Wilmington, DE; seven grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held prior to the service on Saturday Morning April 13, 2024, at 8:00 AM until 9:45 PM with the service beginning promptly at 10:00 AM at Wheatley Civic Center, 934 North 8th Street in Wheatley with Elder Terry Watson as eulogist.
