Minnie Mae Green

Minnie Mae Green, 91 of Augusta passed away on Tuesday March 25 at her home in Augusta.

Minnie was born on October 10, 1933, in Augusta, Arkansas to Edmond Mason Roddy and Minnie Mae Akins-Roddy.

Minnie was a faithful member of the New Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Augusta for her entire life. She enjoyed singing in the choir and reading her bible. She had a strong faith in the Lord.

Minnie received her education from the Augusta Public Schools in Augusta.

Minnie was united in holy matrimony to Jack Green on September 20, 1953.

In her earlier years Minnie worked for the Woodruff County Hospital in McCrory for 20 years and Van Heusen Shirt Factory in Augusta. She also worked for the Augusta Police Auxiliary for several years.

Her husband Jack Green; her children: Lonnie Green, Jeffrey Green and Judy Green-Campbell; her grandchildren: Braxton Green and Demitrius Parker: her parents: Edmond and Minnie Mae Roddy and her siblings: Dorothy Freeman, Sally Marie Young, Cecil Roddy, and Freddie B. Roddy all proceeded Minnie in death.

Her survivors are: her four sons Earl (Shirley) Green of McCrory, AR; Chester B. (Ethel) Green of Augusta, AR; Johnny (Katie) Green Sr. of McCrory, AR and James (Ruthie Mae) Slaughter of Augusta, AR; four daughters: Debra Landrum of Las Vegas, NV; Sharon Spears and Bertha Miller both of Augusta, AR and Torasha Green of Augusta, AR and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday April 5 at 2 PM at Holy Ghost Academy Church of God in Christ, 927 South 4th Street in Augusta with Reverend Donald Miller Jr. serving as eulogist.
