Myron Antonio McClendon, 49, of Augusta, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, January 28 at the Arkansas Hospice Center in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Myron was born on October 3, 1975, in Little Rock, Arkansas to Michael Oshea McClendon Sr. and Mary Ella Poindexter-McClendon.
Myron attended J.A. Fair High School in Little Rock, where he was a member of the class of 1994.
Myron was a lifelong member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church of McCrory, where he was baptized under the leadership of Reverend Billy Sevier. In later years he began attending The Church of Rock Creek in Little Rock.
"Tony" as he was affectionately called, was employed by Porter's Store in Augusta for the past 5 years. He had previously been employed by Kroger in Little Rock.
His maternal grandparents Susie and Eugene Poindexter; his paternal grandparents: Cleo and Berkley McClendon: his three uncles: James, Berkley Jr. and Lawrence; and four aunts: Earlene, Mary Jean, Jane and Margaret all proceeded Myron in death.
Survivors are: his daughter: Makenzie McClendon of Forney, TX; his father Michael McClendon Sr. of Little Rock, AR; his mother Mary Ella (Alfonzo) Brown of Patterson, AR. five brothers: Mark Poindexter of Patterson, AR; Reginald (Deriline) Butler of Atlanta, GA; Michael (Vicki) McClendon, Myrickki (Shandrail) McClendon and Timothy McClendon all of Little Rock, AR: two sisters: Angela McClendon of Malvern, AR; and Mikki McClendon of Atlanta, GA; five nephews: Markell Poindexter, Michael D . Poindexter, Johvoni (Markiana) McClendon, Maleek McClendon, and Aaron Singleton: four nieces: Makayla McClendon, Verda Singleton, Eve Singleton, and Mia Singleton: three great nephews and nieces: Markell "KJ" Poindexter, Johvoni "Deuce" McClendon, Ximeni Chi: and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 8 from 9AM-10AM at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 411 East Main Street in McCrory. The funeral services with held Saturday Feb 8 at 10:00 at St. John with Reverend Felix Duckworth serving as the eulogist. Internment will take place at New Quiet Cemetery in Augusta by CJ Williams Funeral Directors and Cremations of Brinkley (870) 589-5036 and Stuttgart (870)672-7100.
