Natkia Maurice Grayson, 49 of North Little Rock, passed away on Thursday evening, February 8 at Baptist Health Medical Center in North Little Rock.
Natkia was born May 11, 1974, in Little Rock, Arkansas to Marjorie Grayson and Leodis Wilson Jr.
“Skeeter” or “Nick” as Natkia was lovingly known was a member of Fellowship Bible Church in Little Rock, where he served on the church’s Usher Board and was rebaptized. He enjoyed attending church and serving the Lord.
While growing up in Little Rock, Natkia attended the Little Rock Public Schools. He went on to continue his education by attending and receiving certification as a barber from the Arkansas College of Barbering and Hair Design in North Little Rock.
Natkia worked as a Licensed Professional Barber for more than 24 years. He had been employed with the “Heads Up 2“ Shop in Little Rock. He was a former employee of Kitchen Express in Little Rock for more than 3 years.
Natkia served his community wisely by becoming a Motivational Speaker at the Union Rescue Mission’s-Nehemiah House in Little Rock for a time. He enjoyed talking to people about a better path forward in life and making better choices.
Natkia was united in holy matrimony to Tamla Franklin of Little Rock in 2000.
His parents: Marjorie Grayson and Leodis Wilson Jr. both preceded Natkia in death.
Survivors are his wife Tamla Franklin of Little Rock, AR; three sons: Javian (Kiara) Adams and Jonathan Grayson both of Little Rock, AR; and Xavier R. Amos of Dallas, TX; five daughters: Natkia Nicole Grayson, Shawna Grayson, Briana Lewis , Shayla Grayson and Shanika Grayson all of Little Rock, AR; fourteen grandchildren; two brothers: Fredrick Davis of North Little Rock, AR and Le’Jon Wilson of El Cerrito, CA; three sisters: Andrea Wilson of Manteca, CA; and Yalonda Wilson and Regina Wilson both of Stockton, CA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday evening February 23 from 6 PM until 7 PM at Mount Canaan Baptist Church, 317 North Bankhead in Carlisle. Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning, February 24 at 10 AM at St. Paul Baptist Church, 2603 Commerce Street in Little Rock with Pastor R. Deshun Coates officiating. Interment will take place at Carlisle Cemetery, AR-13 in Carlisle by C.J.
