Peggy Louise Dawson

Peggy Louise Dawson, 68 of Clarendon, passed away on Sunday September 10 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock.

Peggy was born January 12, 1955 in Clarendon, Arkansas to Henry Dawson and Jewel Gant.

Although Peggy didn't have a permanent church home, she would on occasion visit some of the local churches. She had strong faith in the Lord and always had a relationship with him in her own way.

"Blondie" or "P.D." as Peggy was well known, received her education from the Clarendon Public Schools and attended Clarendon High School.

Peggy worked as a child caregiver for many years. She was a community child care specialist. She kept and had a helped raise numerous children in the community throughout the years.

Her son Cedric Earl Dawson; her parents: Henry Dawson and Jewel Gant; and a sister Shirlene Dawson-Nevels all preceded Peggy in death.

Survivors are: two sons: Antonio (Shirley) Dawson and Clinton Dawson both of Clarendon, AR; three daughters: Shani Dawson and Sherry Dawson both of Little Rock, AR; and Nicole Dawson of Conway, AR; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, three brothers: Chester (Barbara) Dawson of Clarendon, AR; Herbert (Sylvia) Dawson of Jacksonville, AR and Arthur L. Dawson of Sacramento, CA; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 23 at 10 AM at the Clarendon/Holly Grove High School Auditorium, 320 North 7th Street in Clarendon with Reverend Willie Gilmore officiating. Interment will take place at Shady Grove Cemetery in Clarendon by C.J.
