Raymond Scott

Raymond Scott, 75 of Biscoe, passed away on Thursday, February 1 at his home.

Raymond was born September 23, 1948 in Biscoe, Arkansas to Wilson Scott and Lena Wright-Scott.

Raymond was raised in Biscoe and attended the Biscoe Public Schools.

Raymond was drafted into the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War, for which he received an honorable discharge.

After returning from Vietnam, Raymond met and married Bessie Payne in 1974. They were married for 49 years before her passing in 2023.

Raymond was formerly employed by Producer's Rice Mill (10 years), Walmart (6 years) and Riceland Foods (20 plus years). He was able to retire from all three before 2010.

His wife Bessie Payne Scott, his parents, Wilson Scott and Lena Wright Scott and a sister Areatha Scott-Baker all preceded Raymond in death.

Survivors are: his sons: Earnest (Serena) Scott of Stuttgart, AR; and Clinton (Gwendolen) Payne of DeValls Bluff, AR; seven grandchildren: Malia Scott, Shaquita Scott, Jasmine (Bradley) Penn, Quinton Payne, Jeremy Larkin, Jaden Larkin and Chloe Luckett; 8 great grandchildren; two brothers: Rufus Scott of DeValls Bluff, AR and James Scott of Texarkana, TX; a sister Berlina Scott of Chicago, IL; a sister-in-law Queen Walker of Hazen, AR and a host of other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday evening, February 9 from 6 PM until 7 PM at C.J. Williams Funeral Directors and Cremations Chapel, 206 West Washington Street in Stuttgart.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning, February 10 at 10 AM at C.J. Williams Funeral Directors and Cremations Chapel in Stuttgart with Reverend Maurice Williams officiating. Interment will take place at Harrison Cemetery in Biscoe by C.J.
