Rose Mary Peace Winston, 78 of Des Arc, formerly of Chicago, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, January 28 at CHI St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center in Sherwood.
Rose was born May 7, 1945 in McGhee, Arkansas to Issac Peace and Lillie Mae Wilson-Peace.
Rose received her education from the Little Rock, Public School System.
In her early years after she married, Rose relocated to Chicago, where she lived and worked for more than 45 years. While living in Chicago, She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and became a member of New Heaven Christian Church, where she remained until she retired and moved back to Arkansas in 2008. She then untied with the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Des Arc under the leadership of Reverend Russell Penn. She served as a member of the church choir and enjoyed singing.
Also, while living in Chicago, Rose was employed as a Shuttle Bus Driver of Avis Car Rental Company at O'Hare International Airport, where she worked for more than 35 years before retiring in 2007.
Her son Ricky Winston; parents Issac and Lillie Mae Peace; and two sisters: Ellen Cohen and Betty Jean Bradford all preceded Rose in death.
Survivors are: her son Raymond (Joyce) Peace of Des Arc, AR; a daughter in law Latasha Winston of Schaumberg, IL; grandchildren: Ricky, Tyris, Nikki, Annette, Brittney, Zanaya, Ayona and Tameka nine great grandchildren; her sister: JoAnn Gray of Des Arc, AR; her godchildren: Willie Jean Carr of Chicago, IL and Shirley Jefferson of Atlanta, GA; Ernie Timms of Chicago, IL and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday morning , February 17, at 10 AM at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, 209 East Clair Street in Des Arc with Pastor Russell Penn Jr. officiating. Interment will take place at Lakeside Cemetery in Des Arc by C.J. Williams Funeral Directors and Cremations of Brinkley (870) 589-5036 email: williamsfuneraldirectors2022@gmail.com
Pallbearers are: Tony Cohen, Tommy Hood, Adam Holloway, Donnell Holloway, Luther Anderson and Joe Holloway.
