Shirley Kay Ballard, 66 of Des Arc, passed away on Thursday evening February 8 at her home.
Shirley was born November 28, 1957 in Moro, Arkansas to Lloyd E. Hart and Shirley Temple Robinson-Hart. She was one of 15 children born to this union.
Shirley was raised in Moro (Lee County). She received her education from the Moro Public Schools.
As a child growing up in Moro, Shirley was raised in the Pentecostal Church, where she gave her life to the lord at an early age. In later years, although she didn't attend church services regularly, she enjoyed reading her bible and listening to numerous pastor's sermons on YouTube and other social media platforms.
Shirley was employed for many years as a Certified Nurse Assistant at Cla-Clif Nursing and Rehab Center in Brinkley. She later went on to work for Home Health Care for many years, where she worked until she retired.
Shirley was the widow of the late Willie Ballard whom she married in 1973. To this union two children were born.
Her husband Willie, her parents: Lloyd Hart and Shirley Hart; four brothers: Daniel Hart, Nelson Hart, Robert Hart and Eddie Hart; and three sisters: Margie Hutchinson, Wanda Green and Deborah Armstrong all preceded Shirley in death.
Survivors are her sons: Chuckie (Kristen) Ballard of Cotton Plant, AR; and Kentrell Ballard of Des Arc, AR; her daughter: Trella (Seth) Yarborough of Forrest City, AR; ten grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren; her companion Brian Jackson of Des Arc, AR; three brothers: Lloyd (Joyce) Hart Jr. of Palestine, AR; Gary (Jessica) Hart of Dewitt, AR; and Joe D. Hart of Forrest City, AR; four sisters: Betty Hart of Palestine, AR; Tina (Billy) Pate of Wynne, AR; Michelle (Raymond) Ortiz of Pocahontas, AR; and Kathy (Lynn) Ortiz of Brinkley, AR; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, February 13 from 5 PM until 7 PM at C.J. Williams Funeral Directors and Cremations, 124 South Main Avenue in Brinkley. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday. February 14 at 11 AM at Cotton Plant Cemetery, Highway 306 in Cotton Plant by C.J.
