Vera Gean Jackson, 71 of Clarendon, passed away on Friday evening, May 19 at Baptist Health Medical Center in North Little Rock.
Vera was born August 18, 1951 in Holly Grove, Arkansas to Marie Moore.
Vera was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Clarendon. She served as a Sunday school teacher and was a faithful and dedicated member.
Vera received her education from the Holly Grove Public School System. In later years she went on to earn a GED.
Vera was united in holy matrimony to James Jackson December 25, 1965.
Vera was employed as a Sales Associate with Walmart Stores of Stuttgart for more than 10 years before she retired. She had previously worked as a Case Worker for the Arkansas Child Support Enforcement Agency for many years before the office relocated.
Her husband James Jackson, her mother Marie Moore-Hampton, and four siblings: Tyrone Moore, Lee Etta Kelley, Willie Ketchum and Eurdell Moore all preceded Vera in death.
Survivors are: three sons: Leonard (Birdie) Jackson and Dexter (Tricia) Jackson both of Stuttgart, AR; and Demarcus Jackson of Clarendon, AR; three granddaughters: Airrelle Davenport of Conway, AR; Dextriyanna Jackson of Stuttgart, AR and Tanna Jackson of Little Rock, AR; a great grandson Kortlyn Jackson of Stuttgart, AR; her brother Maurice (Cheryl) Moore of Dallas, TX; two sisters: Verna Dean Bobo of Holly Grove, AR; and Inez (Hezekiah) Smith of Little Rock, A dear friend, Robert Goldsberry of West Helena, AR; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 27 at 2:30 PM at First Baptist Church, 156 Mimosa Drive in Holly Grove with Reverend Cedric Hawkins officiating. Interment will take place at Shady Grove Cemetery in Clarendon by C.J.
