Versie Jean Parker

Versie Jean Parker, 42 of Searcy, formerly of Holly Grove, passed away on Thursday, March 7 at Crossland Riverside Health and Rehab Center in Searcy.

Versie was born October 6, 1981 in Helena, Arkansas to Wayne Parker and Eveline Louise Hardimon-Starr.

Versie was a member of Kingdom Builders Ministries of Holly Grove for two years. She had been a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Pine City.

Versie received her early education from the Holly Grove Public School System. She was a 2000 graduate of Holly Grove High School after which she went on to attend 2 semesters of Collage at Philander Smith College in Little Rock.

Versie had been employed as a Nurse's Aide with Care Link for more than 2 years before she became ill.

Her mother Eveline Starr; a brother Curtis Starr; and three sisters: Annie Lowery, Christine Starr and Annie Bates all preceded Versie in death.

Survivors are: her father Wayne Parker of Little Rock, AR; three brothers: Willie C. Starr, Willie James Starr and David Lee Starr all of Holly Grove, AR; nine sisters: Mary Louise Starr and Carrie Mae Starr both of Chicago, IL; Early Mae (James) Murray and Novella Starr both of Clarendon, AR; Lula Mae Starr-Johnson and Brenda Gayle Starr both of Little Rock, AR; Dorothy Starr of Grand Prairie, TX; Merry Starr of Minneapolis, MN and Effie Wallace of West Helena, AR; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 23 at 2:30 PM at First Baptist Church, 36 Padgett Road in Pine City with Pastor Chuckie Cunningham officiating. Interment will take place at Hayes Cemetery in Holly Grove by C.J.
