Willie James Cobbs

Willie James Cobbs, 68, from Sherwood, formerly of Brinkley, passed away on April 7 was Baptist Health Medical Center in North Little Rock.

Willie was born on August 29, 1956, in Chicago, Illinois to Parker Cobbs Sr. and Rosie Jackson-Cobbs.

Willie was a lifelong member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He had last been a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Dollarway, Arkansas where he sang in the choir and was a member of the deacon board.

Willie received his education from Clarendon School District. He was a proud graduate of Clarendon High School Class of 1975.

Willie was united in holy matrimony to Mary Hall December 14, 1980 in Smales, Arkansas.

Willie was a self-employed truck driver for more than 25 plus years.

His parents Parker Cobbs Sr. and Rosie Lee Cobbs and two siblings Parker Cobbs Jr. and Mattie Hudson proceeded him in death.

Survivors are his wife of 44 years Mary Cobbs of Sherwood, AR; two daughters: Sheronda (Kendrick) Cobbs-Burton of Pine Bluff, AR and Shacoya (Herman) Cobbs-Grady of Sherwood, AR; ten grandchildren: DaVonte Cross, Jaylah Warfield, Jazmyne Warfield, LaTavia Burton, La'Kendrick Burton, and Kendall Burton all of Pine Bluff, AR; Mibrayla Davis, Zi'Shaun Lancaster, both of Sherwood, AR, Tamera Grady of Maumelle, Arkansas, TaMia (Tacarra) Grady of Scott, AR; two great grandchildren: Khamani Burton of Pine Bluff, AR and Kylier Jackson of Scott, AR: two brothers: Phillip (Felicia) Cobbs of Memphis, TN; Claudell (Maxine) Cobbs of Gilmore, AR; and special brother Samuel (Lgvana) Bass of Pine Bluff, AR; two sisters: Patricia (James) Hymon of Memphis, TN and Lorrain (Bruce) Wynne of Texas; his father in law Jessie Hall Sr. (Barbara) of Blackton, AR; one uncle: Jerry Cobbs of Chicago, IL: three aunts: Carolyn Taylor and Vera Cobbs of Smale, AR and Dorothy Hull of Hensley, AR and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 19 from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM at CJ Williams Funeral Directors and Cremations, 124 S Main St, in Brinkley. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 20 at 1:00 PM at the Brinkley Convention Center, 1501 Weatherby Drive, in Brinkley.
